The blended delivery format (face-to-face, in field and online) emphasizes collaboration, personalized attention, state of the art technology, access to higher education leaders in the Sacramento Region, and hands-on research and work is what makes Drexel University the right choice to accelerate your career.
The 45-credit program consists of 14 courses and is delivered in a blended online/on-campus weekend Friday (6-9pm) and Saturday (8-4pm) format at the Drexel University Sacramento, CA campus.
Students take a primary concentration in Administration and Organizational Management and can select a secondary concentration* from one of the following areas:
- Enrollment Management
- Institutional Research
- Academic Development, Technology, and Instruction
- Student Development and Affairs
- Community College Administration and Leadership
* Students who do not select a secondary concentration from this selection may choose three educational elective courses of their choice.
The objective of the program is to develop self-motivated leaders who can communicate effectively and work collaboratively within the broadest context of a higher educational community. The capstone component of the HE, a graduate co-op with portfolio, offers invaluable career preparation. Students undertake an action-research project in which they are challenged to apply their newfound knowledge to identify and resolve a real-life issue in a professional setting at Drexel University's Sacramento Campus.
Careers in higher education administration rank high are competitive in terms of salary, professional development, and room for innovation. For those interested in maximizing their potential in this rewarding field, HE offers a distinguished credential that is also an ideal foundation for doctoral study.
Both programs result in a Drexel University credential, acknowledging the completion of a series of courses leading to a body of knowledge in a specific area. A certificate student may consider matriculation into the graduate program upon the successful completion of the certificate and all other graduate admissions requirements.
